ANGELA HURST

Agriculture Consultant – Extension & Outreach Specialist

Angela is an agricultural consultant with a deep passion for extension, farmer education, and community outreach. Raised in rural Oklahoma, she got her start in agriculture raising rabbits through 4-H — a simple beginning that sparked a lifelong commitment to food and nutrition security.

She went on to earn a B.S. in Animal Science and an M.S. in International Agriculture, shaping her expertise in global farming systems, sustainable food production, and community resilience. Angela believes that sustainability is not one-size-fits-all — it must be adapted to each individual farm, its land, its people, and its mission.

Her experience stretches across Oklahoma, Uganda, Michigan, and New Mexico, where she has worked with farmers, ranchers, and agricultural organizations to improve soil health, livestock systems, conservation practices, and access to nutritious food.

Today, she helps producers grow smarter — not just bigger.
She focuses on:

  • Practical, farm-specific sustainability strategies

  • Outreach and education for farmers and rural communities

  • Helping farmers increase production while improving nutrition access

Angela loves teaching, learning, and working side-by-side with producers. She's excited to bring her experience to your operation and help you build something lasting
